Adopting a Dog from a Shelter? Be sure you’re Prepared

There are few kind acts in this world that could rank over adopting a dog from a shelter. The great thing is, it isn't just something you do for the dog; it's also a great way to bring an extra touch of joy and happiness to your own home. Assuming of course, that your home is ready. Yu really need to keep a few things in mind before going ahead with something like this. Here are some tips that should help you pick the best kind of dog for your home.

Now before you go ahead with anything like this – whether it's adopting a dog from a shelter or a baby or anything – you really need to be mentally and emotionally prepared for the experience. When you head to the shelter with all those pitiful looking dogs looking at you for a chance to be adopted, it can be very hard to just turn your back on all but one of them. It can be very hard especially, when you bring your children. Everyone knows what happens to shelter dogs that are not adopted by anyone.

The thing is, it wouldn't be as hard if you just went and picked one dog out of a hundred. The problem is that when you go to a shelter, you usually narrow it down to three or four dogs. The three or four dogs that you look at, you usually fall in love with right away. Knowing you just have to pick one and the others just might never be picked by anyone is a difficult thought. Basically, if you plan to take your children along to the shelter to help pick a dog out, you better be prepared for how to handle the situation. Sometimes, when you go along with some another person –your child or your spouse or anyone – you need to be prepared for all kinds of long arguments about what is best.

You'll need to think about all that when you're actually ready to adopt. Many shelters will actually require that you live in a detached home. They actually require that you have a fenced area in your yard where you can let your dog run about anyone's the outside. It's a much better idea than tying your dog up or allowing him to run about while on a long leash.

Shelters will usually have rules about the minimum size your fenced area has to be. They're looking for something that the dog can run about and play in. If you to have a fenced area just like they require, you need to look into installing a pet door in your back door.

This is a great idea because when everyone's out to work, your dog will be able to go out into the fenced yard and relieve himself. How can you expect anyone – man or animal – to hold it in for more than four hours? Basically, you need to meet a decision about who takes care of the dogs needs during the day when everyone's away work. Some people like to just lay papers down and train the dog to go there. Others hire a dog walker to come in and take the dog out.

And of course, you need to be able to actually spend on the dog’s food and health. You should probably be prepared for about $400 worth of expenses every month.

Healthy Dog Biscuits

Did you know that the majority of dogs that are overweight are in their condition because of the dog biscuits they eat? While there are certainly many reasons why dogs can pack on a few extra pounds, dog biscuits can be the culprit if you are worried your pooch is just too heavy. You may have a lean dog and worry about overall health and want to avoid obesity too. Whatever the case, you want to see what you can find for healthy dog biscuits. That way you can indulge them once in a while without worrying that their treats are going to shorten their lives.

Dog biscuits are a common way that owners use positive reinforcements to show a dog that they are pleased with their behavior. This is far more effective than swatting at them if they misbehave or locking them up in a kennel when they should otherwise be free in the home. As with children, dogs respond better to and learn better from the positive reinforcements, so do not think that you have to give up this type of treat when training or rewarding your dog. You just want to be on the look out for healthy dog biscuits.

There is a movement among dog owners to buy healthier dog food. When you are choosing food for your family, you probably read the labels pretty well to make sure you are putting things into their bodies that are healthy. You should do the same for your dog. If you are reading the ingredients and you do not know what half of the things are on the list, you may want to get something better. You should do the same when you are looking for healthy dog biscuits. Read the ingredients first so you are sure they are the best out there.

Grains are important to dogs, so when you get healthy dog biscuits you want to see that there are some whole grains. They should not be the main ingredient though. As with dog food, you want to see meats listed at least to some degree, and you want them to be whole meats. You want to see the most natural looking list of ingredients on the package that you would see on your bag of dog food. Fillers are simply empty calories that your dog does not need, and could be things that are detrimental to their health.

Remember that no matter what healthy dog biscuits you get for your pet, you can not overdo it when you are giving them out. You want to limit them to just a few a day or at just one if they are larger biscuits. They will get some chewing enjoyment out of them, but too many are a bad idea. Instead, get them rawhide bones that they can gnaw on to their hearts content. Both are good for their teeth and a good raw hide will last your pooch quite a long time. That in addition to a good biscuit or two a day should be all the extra they need.

Why I Have Mixed Feelings About Dog Clothes

My parents have always been very big on dressing up their Boston Terriers in dog clothes, and I have to admit that on this point, I am hugely conflicted. On one hand, I think they look really cute and it does not seem to bother them one bit that they are wearing them. On the other hand, it is not natural for dogs to wear clothes, and I wonder sometimes, if they could voice their own opinions, what they would  have to say on the matter.

It started out with my father buying his dog, Molly, a Boston Terrier, a University of Texas at Austin sweater that she could wear when it was cold outside. He had a whole web site he found that sold dog clothes, and after he bought the sweater, he realized that he would need something for the warmer weather months as well — so he bought a University of Texas t-shirt as well. I thought this was kind of cute, and the dog did not seem to mind it so much, so I did not really say anything about it.

Then, my sister got in on the act, went to the same online store that sold dog clothes and bought our other Boston Terrier, Patsy, a Texas A&M t shirt and sweater. I really just laughed at this because our family is kind of divided in terms of the college sports programs we support, and as I, too, am an A&M fan, I was kind of proud of my sister for what she did. I thought that would be the end of it and we would move on with our lives, but as I would soon find out, it was far from over.

My mother got in on the act, and as she is not a sports fan, she decided she would get dog clothes that she thought were cute, with little flowers on them and amusing slogans. Still, I would usually laugh whenever I saw them, but then it started to get a little old. I also used to feel sorry for the dogs when they would try to pull the clothes on because they did not always seem very happy about it. After all, dogs have their own natural clothes, in the form of fur.

When it reached a point where my mother and sister were buying scarves for the dogs, I realized that it has gone too far. I did not say anything about it, but I was not about to react positively whenever I saw a new “outfit” one of them had purchased for the dogs and I think they got the message … eventually. I guess my thing is, if they could speak for themselves and give their opinion, how many dogs would actually want to wear dog clothes? I don't know the answer to this question, but it is something to think about.

When Pain Relief for Dogs is Necessary

We had a dog named Rocky for about 16 years. He was a mixed breed, half Schnauzer and half Cocker Spaniel, and he was one of the best pets we ever had. He started get sick a few years ago, and it was obvious that we needed to take him to the veterinarian. Our vet informed us that often, later in life, pain relief for dogs becomes necessary, and gave us a number of options for Rocky that would allow him to live out his golden years in as little pain as possible.

We came home from an outing one day and noticed that he was whimpering every time he was try to urinate. We were not sure what to do, because we had never encountered anything like it before, so we just tried to let it go for a few days and see if it would pass. Well, it didn't, and it actually became worse. My brother read an article online about pain relief for dogs and looked for the symptoms that Rocky was having. Sure enough, he had what appeared to be a urinary tract infection, and we were able to get him medication that alleviated it.

The website that specialized in pain relief for dogs came in handy about a year later as well, when Rocky started having problems with his joints. He would was really struggling to stand up, sit down and get up and down the stairs. Whenever he would hop up on one of our laps, his hind legs would start shaking and he would have to get down after only a few seconds. My brother found a product on the site that was designed specifically for dogs that had arthritis, which we confirmed Rocky had through a veterinarian, and we were able to get him treated.

My brother ended up joining a message board about pain relief for dogs and learned more information on the topic than he ever really cared to know. He said that he was quite relieved that Rocky did not have some of the symptoms that the other dog owners had seen, and said that he got some great ideas about how to treat Rocky's symptoms from some of the posts he'd read on the message board. Before long, Rocky was acting like a young pup again.

Pain relief for dogs becomes necessary near the end of any canine's life. It is not a pleasant experience to have to deal with, but if you make an effort to make his or her life easier, you will also probably make it last longer in the process. The dog will feel better, and you will feel better that you did it.

Best Online Newspaper

It was only natural and expected. When nearly every product or service known to man has gone online, it was only a matter of time before we started seeing online newspapers. After all, the newspaper is nothing more than an informational resource. And the Internet is probably the very best (not to mention fastest) information delivery channel ever invented by man. So an online newspaper, far from being a strange concept, is actually a very justifiable one. One wonders why it took so long for them to begin making a presence in the first place.

In the earlier days of the Internet, when the reach of the technology was limited and when websites cost a great deal more to set up and maintain, online newspapers were considered to be an unviable option. Which is why most newspapers had just a nominal online presence. There was also the gloom associated with the threat that online newspapers would spell the end of printing as we knew it. Since most newspaper publishers made their money from the offline versions of their newspapers, they were unwilling to embrace online newspapers. But the transition was inevitable. Once more and more people started going online, they demanded newspapers that they could access online. Most of the news was already available online in some form or the other. And unless newspapers too went the online way, they would lose their readers to more adaptable competitors. Which is when there was a flurry of activity and online newspapers made a big entry.

Since then, there has been no looking back. Online newspapers are as much a part of our daily lives as the Internet and e-mail are. In fact, some e-mail service providers like Yahoo and MSN provide their own versions of online newspapers, delivered right to your inbox. And although publishers of newspapers are still loathe to provide free news, online newspapers have ore than begun to pay for themselves. All of this started with the emergence and steady acceptance of transactions on the internet. Once people started getting used to the idea for paying for information and content, they found no harm in paying for an online newspaper subscription. And once publishers realized that people were willing to pay for online newspaper content, they began promoting it in a better manner. Online newspapers also offered publishers the option of reducing their costs. For each offline newspaper, there was a substantial printing and raw material cost. By comparision, online newspapers could be distributed almost freely and the profits were greater.

I personally subscribe for at least four online newspapers. And going by the depth of coverage, speed to market (or my inbox) and the value for meony they provide, I am pretty sure that I will continue to subscribe to them for some time to come!

Got a website? Making a newsletter drives traffic!

There are hundreds of millions of websites on the net. This fact makes it obvious why it takes some exceptional marketing skills to get your share of attention. Whether you've got a product, service or simply a personal web page, one outstanding advertising vehicle is an e-newsletter. Whoa, you say - how do I do that? What do I put in the newsletter? Why should I do that? Let's look at each question in turn.

Making a newsletter for your website is really not all that difficult. There are many tutorials out there which will show you the ropes on the technical points. Go to Google and enter "online newsletter tutorial" or "ezine tutorial". You'll find many excellent resources in just the first couple of pages of results. There are just a few formatting considerations if you're making a newsletter in a text-only format. If you want to get fancy, make a newsletter that's also available in an HTML format, with fancy graphics and lots of color. Whether you opt for text-only or both text and HTML formats depends on what you're promoting. Service oriented websites often find that making a text newsletter serves the needs of its customers best, as information is the main draw. A site selling fancy candles or garden plants will want to make a newsletter available in HTML, as a visual sells that product best.

So, now for the contents: when making a newsletter, plan your content first. Make your newsletter components and categories consistent with each issue. Again, it depends on what you're selling or promoting.

When marketing a service, categorize the major components of your service. This allows you to hit on each aspect of interest to your customer. For example, let's say your business installs window treatments. Your categories might consist of latest product introductions, feature pieces on window treatment solutions, this month's promotions and links to home decorating sites featuring pics to spark the imagination of your customers.

Making a newsletter for your personal webpage can put you ahead of the competition. One category might consist of blog type entries in which you detail what's happening this month in your life. For example, you're a student and aspiring photographer. Let your subscribers know about a new technique or a recent accolade. Invite your reader's to contribute their own - make it a forum of sorts. Other categories include links to photo contests, message boards and online learning venues.

Now for the why: when you make a newsletter available to your readers, it brings your website to their attention on a regular basis. They won't forget you. With newsletter content that's interesting and useful, you gain repeat traffic and click-throughs that can create some passive income when your reader makes a purchase. A reader who finds your newsletter worthy of passing on to a friend brings you exposure you might never have gained had you not made the effort to make a newsletter. To your success!

Fortnite Corporation, Bing and Google - An Internet Watershed

This is what they call a system of checks and balances. In the critical service area of Internet search, Google's enormous reach and power, as important as it is to business and consumer alike, needs a competitor to save it from its own self. And that competitor is Free V Bucks Hack No Survey, Fortnite V Bucks Generator NO VERIFICATION and News Corporation are three powerful enterprises that have been in the news recently for their games of power-play that could have enormous effect on the way all of us get to use the Internet.

The problem has been simmering for years. News publishers the world over first greeted the Internet by putting their content online for free. And then blogs and smaller regional services started up that published their views and opinions online too. Pretty soon, news services began to see their revenue model go up in smoke before their very eyes. Newspapers and magazines have been closing every day for more than a year now, major newspapers included. News Corporation, the world's largest media conglomerate, has decided to take action then. They have contacted Google, and asked them to remove from their search listings any result that points to a News Corporation property. The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and many other News Corporation publications are being removed from Google. If Google fails to comply, they can expect to be sued. First, Google didn't really pay any attention to this, so preposterous did the injunction sound. But the publication company has been moving ahead with this plan, collecting allies along the way - other news companies and search engines, and Google has been forced to concede.

But isn't this insanity? How would any publisher on the Internet actually get visitors if it weren't for Google? But one needs to understand the problem major news outlets face. News Corporation and all other news creators certainly invest a great deal in their newsgathering. They publish it on the Internet, and people read it for free. How on earth is a publisher to make a profit? News Corporation wonders the same. It feels that free news is a thing of the past; people are going to have to pay for it now. How feasible is this idea?

Google feels that News Corporation is being a little shortsighted. After all, Google brings 100,000 visitors to the company's websites every minute, something it considers more than adequate payment for Google's indexing. This doesn't really work in practice though; in the current recessive environment, click-through advertising income is sparse. With Bing in in its corner, News Corporation wishes to make all of its publications online, subscription-based. Google could figure that News Corporation really needs it better than it needs News Corporation. Google could just call their bluff, but it doesn't seem that simple. Bing is trying to step in and fill the void left behind by Google's departure.  This could just be Bing's biggest oportunity.

Fortnite Music Makes the Hip Hop News

One isn't sure where it comes from, but as all true hip-hop fans know, there is something about Islam that naturally speaks to rap music and hip-hop. Somehow, the hip-hop creed of personal strength, self-respect, and opposing the whole world no matter how outnumbered of you are, finds   great strength in the established principles of free v bucks no human verification that he stand for the same kind of personal strength. It might be unnerving to some, but the latest hip hop news is full of new artists, most of whom came of age after the September 11 attacks, rebelliously standing up for what they believe in, in a refreshingly stylistic and vociferously unapologetic manner often promoting American Islam, promoting in the best traditions of the hip-hop art, the feelings of everyday life that an American Arab or other American Muslim faces. Islamic hip-hop raps about personal growth, spiritual commitment, and social change.

Hamza is one such popular Islamic rapper, who made the hip hop news recently for starring in a documentary on PBS, called New Muslim Cool. The theme you see in Islamic hip-hop is, depending on how you see it, disturbingly familiar. Just as Gangsta rap does, Islamic hip-hop seems preoccupied with death, prison, drugs, and harsh betrayal. However, in keeping with Islamic restraint, they rarely bring in vulgar jewelry, cars or women into their rants. Familiar themes include sounding off against corporate soullessness, praise for God and berating the war in Iraq.

A part of what Islamic rap tries to do is show with its lost youth how music and religion can give them something to anchor themselves to life with. The way samples of Martin Luther King's or Malcolm X's speeches often make it into hip-hop background music, samples of Louis Farrakhan's speeches often make it into both hip-hop news and hip-hop music. The only problem is, that Islamic rap often tries to "go back to the roots" when it deals with religion. You'd see it right away at any Islamic rap concert; where in a regular rap concert you'd see a lot of skimpy dressing and beer, at an Islamic rap concerts, you would see only men, and fruit juice or milk shakes.

The strict religious code on drink, extends to the music itself. There has been hip hop news made recently about how Islamic high priests have let it be heard how they did not approve of music that represents religion. You have heard of how the Taliban shoots up music shops in Afghanistan. Islamists had to stand against music. Conservative Islam sees music as corrupting and evil. Mos Def and Everlast are two such Orthodox Muslims, who find themselves in a dilemma. As a general rule, Islamic hip-hop doesn't really find much of a following. The less they bring religion into it, the better it appears to be for their popularity.

But still, Islamic hip-hop is a nascent artform; it still needs to find its niche, and make sure that the hip-hop news, reflects the hard work it does to grow.

Fortnite News Has Lost Its Luster for Me

I used to be the biggest hound for celebrity gossip news. I watched shows like TMZ and Extra on a regular basis, and I loved hearing the latest rumors about various celebrities.

I started to realize a few years ago, however, that celebrities are human beings like everyone else, Fortnite V Bucks Generator and celebrity gossip news quickly began to lose its appeal for me.

I think it is only natural to want to listen to gossip, and celebrity gossip news is typically pretty juicy. You hear about all of the sordid details of a love affair gone awry or an ugly feud between two celebrities, and it gives you something to talk about with other people and it almost makes you feel privy to something that should be a secret.

The fact of the matter is that it should be a secret, as all of our private lives should be a secret. One of the things you most often hear about is that many of the rumors about celebrities are untrue, but even when that is revealed, many people still associate the celebrity with the rumor, and that person has to live with that forever.

Celebrity gossip news appeals to most people, I think, because we do want to know about people and gossip can either show us that they are regular people like us, or it can knock them off of their pedestal and give them a proper lesson in humility. Either way you look at it, even when the gossip is true, all it does is prove that celebrities, like the rest of us, are human and make mistakes.

One of the greatest analogies about gossip that I have ever heard came from the movie “Doubt.” Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a priest, and in his sermon, he is telling the story of a young woman that goes to confession and said that she has gossiped about another person, and wants to know if that is a sin.

The old priest tells her that, for her penance, she must go home, get on top of her roof with a pillow, cut it open, and empty all of the feathers from the roof. She does so, and comes back the next to tell the priest she has done what he asked.

The priest then tells her to go and gather up every feather that came from the pillow, and put it back in the case. The girl protests saying that it would be impossible, that the feathers went everywhere and are all over now. There is no way that she can find them all.

“And that's gossip,” the old priest tells her.

While celebrity gossip news may be entertaining and intriguing in some cases for us, it is not necessarily a good thing. Our natural fascination with celebrities leads us to want to know more about them, but I think we should all remembers that they are people, too.

Fortnite Channels are More Fluff than News

These days you can turn to just about any of the major news channels and get information about late breaking stories, but there is also a decidedly entertainment aspect to these news channels that is disturbing. Some of them, like “Headline News” don’t even attempt to be a solid news provider anymore. They are pure tabloid and usually they only provide gossip about the latest missing child or murdered wife or whatever the latest juicy tidbit is. Others like “Fox News” are just fronts for political stances, in this case the Republican party which seems to control all of Fox’s news fortnite skins free Generator  in a very blatant and disturbing way. They even go out of their way to pronounce themselves “Fair and Balanced” but the opposite is true and it is transparent to all but the most partisan of viewers. Michael Moore claimed that Fox News helped to push the 2000 election in favor of the Republican candidate George W. Bush, but it seems far-fetched that any of the news channels could affect something as important as a national election. It is a fact, however that they called the election early in favor of Bush without any real proof that he had in fact won. Whatever the real story was we may never know.

We all know that the tabloid news shows like “Entertainment Tonight” and “Extra” are all fluff and more concerned about following celebrities around town like paparazzi than covering any real news, but when Fox News and CNN, supposedly real news channels start reporting the same trivial material, it becomes a matter for concern. Many people have stopped watching these news channels altogether and instead favor the hard hitting and incisive PBS News Hour. This is one of the few remaining news channels that take their time reporting a story and they go in-depth to cover all the different angles. They are interested in finding out the facts and this cannot be done with twenty second sound bites. This type of journalism requires investigative reporting done by real professionals.

To be fair, CNN does have some semblance of reporting left with Anderson Cooper, one of the few reporters left that actually hangs on to a story. It was in evidence just recently with the massive earthquake that hit Port Au Prince, Haiti. Long after the regular media had disappeared he was still there covering the story and the aftermath of the great quake, which left thousands dead and many more injured and homeless. The struggle to rebuild continues in Haiti and you can still switch the channel to CNN and see Anderson Cooper there with Sean Penn, who is much to be admired for his humanitarian efforts, despite what you may personally think of his liberal politics.

Fox News would never have given that type of coverage to Haiti and especially not Sean Penn whom the regular talking heads on Fox like Sean Hanitty and others detest. This is another example of allowing political views to cloud investigative journalism and one of the reasons that these news channels are evading the real news.

A Free News Reader for the iPad to End all News Readers

Unless they gave you your iPad at the office for special situations in your line of work that would call for such a device, it is nearly indisputable that an iPad is more or less a nice toy to have and not really necessity. Still, using the iPad to read e-books from the Kindle store (and imported into the iPad via a convenient Amazon app) or reading Web articles on the iPad through InstaPaper can be a wonderful experience. As it turns out, it isn't the best use you can get out of an iPad to turn it into a magazine-clippings reader or an e-book reader. As the creators of a new iPad app called FlipBoard have discovered, turning the device into a free newsreader - a kind of live magazine filled with regular pictorial updates and constantly refreshed print, can give you an experience that would be difficult to get anywhere else. It would make the device truly indispensable. One believes that as far as reading magazines and the news go, FlipBoard has to be the future of the medium.

The first time that you install the FlipBoard app on your iPad, the program asks you to allow it access to your Facebook and Twitter accounts. The moment you do that, it goes out and finds every story, video, song or anything else that your friends and your followers have indicated their approval of all over the Internet. So does it just give you an endless list of URLs for stuff over the Internet? Not by a long shot. What it does is, it turns all of that content into an off-the-cuff newspaper for you. It takes all of that content -  the hundreds of articles, the photos, the music and the YouTube videos, it turns that all into an impromptu newspaper with a newspaper-like layout, it turns that into a website, and gives you the URL for it. You go there, and it's like you're opening a newspaper that was just made for you. It's a free news reader program unlike anything you've ever heard of before.

Is this different from any other paid or free news reader app on the app store that promises to personalize the Web just for you? Well, those programs use RSS, a protocol that's far past its prime. When you have a newsreader that only scours the sites that you've signed up for, what you get happens to be pretty static. A program that looks for what your friends have liked on the Internet, and that gives you a truly dynamic snapshot of things that you're likely to like is far better. That's why people like aggregator sites like The Huffington Post. They want something from a new corner of the Internet each day. If you don't have a great deal of activity on Facebook or Twitter or not at all, you can log into any public Twitter list and do the same thing.

It's a beautiful free news reader idea. And it's the future of news.

A Shocking Bit of Chocolate News - does Chocolate, the Classic Pick-me-Up, actually Cause Depression?

Chocolate has a reputation as a kind of feel-good food - comfort food, if you will. It isn't uncommon to find people who keep a stash – of Hershey's Milka or M&M's - in their desk drawer at work. When the going gets tough through the day, nothing can feel more comforting to these people than to know that they can reach for a favorite little dessert. Of course, before they know it, they've just downed about 5000 calories. But it's all about how it makes them feel when they are in the middle of a stressful time free v bucks no human verification. If you see at least some reflections of your own personal predilections in this picture, you need to know that the Archives of Internal Medicine finds that you're in good company - large parts of America do this. Now this is what makes for some important chocolate news. People who are depressed eat one more chocolate than people who are okay with their lives; for people who have access to unlimited chocolate, the more the sink into a funk, the more they get into that jar.

Now you're probably thinking that this doesn't really count as important chocolate news or anything; just about every romantic sitcom with someone going through a breakup shows them digging into a tub of Häagen-Dazs or a huge pound bag of sweeties. What makes this news is that no one's ever done any research into what happens in a person's relationship with chocolate when she becomes depressed. Research has uncovered some startling information.

Scientists are beginning to wonder if we have the causation all upside down; is it possible that people don't go to chocolate as a pick-me-up when they feel depressed? What if turning to chocolate is what brings the depression on in the first place? The study actually took up 900 people to study about their chocolate habits. Those who word depressed, they found, ate nearly twice as much chocolate as those who weren't. It appeared to be absolutely linear, the relationship did: the more chocolate a person ate, the more depressed she reported herself as being. Everything else that the most depressed people did was virtually the same as the stuff that the happy people did; they ate the same kinds of things, they had the same kind of life. Basically, the study narrowed down what was happening to the chocolate these people were eating. And of course, the study included men as well as women; and the men showed as much of a relationship between their mood and their cravings for chocolate as women.

Basically, the chocolate news at hand is that it is possible that chocolate causes depression. But haven't you read from time to time that chocolate actually acts as a mood elevator? Scientists do agree; except that like alcohol, chocolate can temporarily make you feel good; before wiping you out. It turns into a kind of hair of the dog treatment - to cure a condition caused by something, you take more of the stuff. The mood boost you get with chocolate is pretty short-lived; the boost is followed by a bust. So there you have it: unwrap that candy with care.

Accepting Fortnite Online Payments is Key to Your Website’s Success

If you’re just taking the plunge, establishing an online presence for your home business, you want to launch with a well-thought out and organized website. Most website owners hope to increase their bottom line, by reaching out to a wider audience than they enjoy in their brick and mortar venue.

One major ingredient of a successful website operation is accepting online payments. While you might have a terrific website, easily navigated, filled with quality, optimized content, with valuable information that’s relevant to your demographic audience, if you aren’t accepting online payments, your paying traffic, in both first-time and repeat visitors, will start to Fortnite skins no human verification. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of accepting online payments.

The benefits to your home based business are many, while the down side is quite minimal.

Among the benefits is the far greater number of sales you’ll make. Consumers have largely overcome the reluctance of using a bank card to pay for purchases online. This makes purchasing a more convenient way to buy goods and services, along with the consumer having a greater selection from which to choose. Most consumers generally understand what a secure server is, a protocol which protects your sensitive personal information.

How many people do you think would bother writing a check, stamping and posting it off to place their order for your products when they can easily find a competing site, which is accepting online payments? Not many.

Keeping the pulse of your site’s activity is easily accomplished by checking your web stats frequently. See which pages are most popular and check your incoming and outgoing links. This can help you further optimize pages, on a continuing basis. You can also analyze your web stats to determine what page sent your customer to the order page.

There are several routes you can take to integrate accepting online payments into your site’s functions. PayPal is one popular site which processes payments made online to your business. It’s simple and free to set up. The downside, if it could be called that, is minimal. You are charged a small percentage transaction fee to receive payments, which is also the case with the array of online merchant accounts. The major difference between the two is that online merchant accounts typically charge setup fees. Before choosing the vehicle through which you’ll be accepting online payments, you’ll want to run a comparison of several prospective vendors and see which works best for your business.

It’s been established that the rule of thumb on the time required to attract a visitor that buys a product or service, involves about 7 repeat visits to any given website. Naturally, you’ll want to set up your website with as many reasons to revisit as possible. A site that’s not accepting online payments isn’t going to be on the short list of a surfer’s bookmarks. It’s too much trouble to buy otherwise. Don’t be left in the dust by your competitors, who are accepting online payments!

Game Servers – The Secret behind MMORPGs

In massively multi-player online role playing games (MMORPGs), dedicated game servers are a requirement for seamless game play that makes these games so appealing. The fact that you can connect and play a game like War of Warcraft or Modern Warfare with thousands of other players is no small matter. But thanks to dedicated game servers, online game playing has been taken to a whole new level. Just like you would log into your company’s database online and view or post data onto the servers, game playing online has also made it possible to log in play a game level, save your game and continue exactly from where you left off. In order to do this, lots of information must be moved between the client and the server as the game progresses and handling all this information requires lots of processing power. Only dedicated servers can help unload slow processors from the client side and allow the ability to use the processing and graphic power of remote processors in dedicated servers.

Game servers do a lot of work. For example, a game server will compare and calculate a character’s position, distant from other players and animates a character among other things. Servers also notify a client during an attack, reports damage, calculate projectiles as well as determine what kills a character in games like modern warfare.

In the real world however, a dedicated server is actually a misnomer. A number of dedicated game servers are needed for most MMORPGs. Why a number of servers when one has a lot of processing power? These games generally require players to log in, chat or access account information. All servers can be separated and handled by different servers for a number of reasons. A login server, for example, allow gamers to put in their login information and access the game world from anywhere in the world. Chat servers relay text information between different players. A VoIP server allows for voice traffic.

Game servers particularly utilize upstream bandwidth as a result, hosted game servers thus require data centers that allow fast read and data transmission speeds that the average home broadband connection cannot provide. Since most dedicated game servers are run by the software company that owns the game title, they can more easily control and update information and offer the required speeds and environments that allow for the best game play features that can be offered. So the next time you log in to play your War of Warcraft game, remember that dedicated game servers are behind the scene in all that you do.
